During the week preceding St. Barbara’s Day, local schools, including the Primary School and Kindergarten in Bobrowniki, hosted meetings dedicated to cultivating mining traditions. The meetings were organized by CZW “Węglozbyt” S.A. The activities aimed to introduce young children to the history and significance of miners’ work and to familiarize them with the symbols and customs associated with the celebration of St. Barbara’s Day.
The meetings were led by company employees, who appeared in their formal mining uniforms, generating considerable interest from the children.
The workshop-style nature of the activities, the interesting facts, and the opportunity to see mining insignia up close ensured that the events were very popular.
The initiative aims to cultivate cultural heritage, build respect for the work of miners, and introduce young people to the region’s rich culture. Organizers emphasize that the children’s interest and active participation demonstrate the importance of passing down traditions to future generations.
